Juan Gomez, The Story Teller

Juan Gomez, CEO and Co-Founder of Stay Kalm Insurance, is known as a Storyteller. He can tell you the story of his life, the story of the sport of cycling, the story of all his travels or the story of his family…but one of his favorite stories to tell is the story of how an idea of creating an insurance agency that would fill a niche and offer personalized and caring service became an actual small business named Stay Kalm Insurance in 2013. Juan grew up in El Paso, TX and attended UTEP, where he studied Marketing and Finance. Juan has over 15 years of Insurance and Commercial Trucking experience.

Family means the world to him and he shares his life with his wife Juliana and two kids, Amelia and Joaquin, who are both in elementary school and keep him busy with many sports and activities. Juan is a multiple time Ironman athlete, cycles any chance he gets, and is always looking to push himself further with new athletic challenges. Traveling is another activity that Juan has a passion for and he enjoys many trips with his family.

Stay Kalm has been a dream come true for Juan as becoming an Entrepreneur is the ultimate way in which he can share his passion for serving his community.

Juan Carrasco, The Professor

Juan Carrasco, COO and Co-Founder of Stay Kalm Insurance, spends his days teaching about the importance of insurance, helping customers minimize risks, maximize benefits and offering products and services that are tailored to the specific needs of each and every client. Even when a sale does not happen, the client will always leave a conversation with Juan with a lot of knowledge about the ins and outs of their insurance policies, sometimes a lot more than they want to know! It’s the details and the highest level of service that make Juan and Stay Kalm stand out from other insurance agencies.

Juan graduated from NYU’s Stern School of Business with a degree in Management and International Business and has had experience in a variety of fields and industries, including Getty Images in NYC and Wells Fargo in Dallas, each one giving him a different skill set that all culminated with the creation of Stay Kalm Insurance in 2013.

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Juan moved to New Jersey and worked and studied in NYC, where he met his wife, Patti, and then soon after moved to Dallas with his new family and now has 2 kids in college (Sebastian who attends the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Victoria who attends Fordham University in NYC) and Natalia, who is in middle school.

When Juan is not at work, he loves to cycle (he has several 100 mile races under his belt), to watch tennis, soccer and Formula 1. His kids have played basketball, soccer, volleyball, run track and field and cross country, and have been in the school band, so attending his kids’ activities has been a big part of his life over the years. Currently, he can consider himself a dance-dad as his youngest spends hours on end dancing and performing.

Juan loves to travel and has visited many amazing places. The furthest from home was Japan, when his brother and family lived in Okinawa in 2018. He has also visited 40 US states with his family on many amazing road trips over the years. He loves camping but wishes he could do it more. He has a Jack Russel Terrier named London, he loves a good beer, enjoys a good steak dinner, and loves socializing with friends and clients who have become friends. A surprising fact about Juan is that he does not have ANY social media accounts at all!

When asked what the best part of working at Stay Kalm is, he says “It really feels like I have made an impact on our clients throughout the years as well as the people on our team. I feel that everything I have learned at school has been put into practice since we opened Stay Kalm.” And that is truly an amazing accomplishment!

Andrea Gonzalez

A professional in Modern Languages, with 5 years of experience in Telemarketing, and Customer Service Representative.

One of her skills is to always provide clients with the peace of mind and efficiency that they deserve, always with quick solutions to any of their concerns.

Working in the compliance area and assisting the renewals and retention team; Responsible for the filing and documentation area of ​​policies on personal lines.

When she is not providing peace of mind to her clients, she relaxes by playing video games, watching Korean series on Netflix, or reading a good Jane Austin novel.

Adriana Gonzalez, Commercial Lines Operations Manager

Adriana’s role at Stay Kalm covers a variety of services on the Operational side of the business. Adriana manages processes such as financial analysis and reporting, administrative tasks, daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly business recaps, assists with policy renewals and paperwork, and attends staff meetings to share information and participate in decision-making with the team.

She was born and currently lives in Bogota, Colombia and has been with Stay Kalm since 2019. Before Stay Kalm, she also worked in insurance for a total of 15 years of experience. Adriana chose insurance because her strengths are in analysis, critical thinking and problem solving, all of which are required in her current position.

In her free time, Adriana likes soccer, both watching the Premiere League or the Colombian soccer league or taking her kids to their soccer practices and games on the weekends. She enjoys reading, listening to rock music, being with her two dogs, eating sushi, watching Formula 1, and spending time with her husband and her three kids, ages 21, 13 and 7. One unique thing about Adriana is that she loves history and politics.

The best part about working for Stay Kalm is working with her co-workers and the sense of teamwork she feels. She has learned so much from each of them and she feels valued and appreciated every day.
